Members of Girlguiding Fife from across the Kingdom gathered at The Old Kirk Kirkcaldy on Sunday 24th May for the annual awards ceremony. There were over 100 awards for various achievements, such as long service. Sixty-one volunteer leaders, who between them have given an incredible 540 years of service to the Guiding movement in Fife, received awards. These included awards for Helen Clark from Rosyth (30 years), Elizabeth Coates from Kingskettle (40 years) and Patricia Gilmour, who has been with the Limekiln Brownies for 50 years. Other highlights included a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award presented to Mairi Galbraith from Dunfermline and a UK Good Service Award presented to Helen Barrett from Burntisland.
The awards were presented by Mrs Margaret Dean, Patron of Girlguiding Fife, Mrs Eileen Martin, Deputy Scottish Chief Commissioner and Mrs Elizabeth Meacher, County Commissioner for Fife.
