Recently Liddy, a brownie leader in Fife, returned from Uganda where she was volunteering as a dentist to provide dental treatment to Ugandans who have no access.
Whilst there, by chance, she was in a park in Entebbe and became aware of girls in uniform. It happened to be the Ugandan Girlguiding Association who were celebrating their centenary.
Guides, Brownies and Rainbows were there having a great day of games, crafts and songs. After Liddy introduced herself to them and shared that she is a leader in Scotland, they invited her to join in and take pictures to share with her Brownies back here in Fife. She joined in their very special celebration, helping to cut the cake and meet all the commissioners. A very unexpected but special day.
The Ugandan members there would be delighted if any Scottish units would like international friends by exchanging emails and letters. If you are interested, please get in touch with this page and we’ll put you in touch with Liddy.
